Creative Upholstery Classes – Summer Exhibition

I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Creative Upholstery Classes Summer Exhibition, a wonderful event held every two years in a beautiful Dorset countryside setting.

The exhibition was a real celebration of the students’ creativity, craftsmanship and individuality, with an incredible collection of restored and reimagined chairs on display. From bold colours and contemporary prints to more traditional fabrics and finishes, every piece had its own personality and reflected the time, care and skill that had gone into creating it.

It was lovely to capture not only the finished work, but also the atmosphere of the day — visitors exploring the exhibition, chatting with the makers, enjoying homemade cakes and celebrating everything the students had achieved.

Such a colourful, inspiring event to photograph, and a brilliant reminder of how much beauty can be created by giving a much-loved piece of furniture a new lease of life.
