Cartoon Dog Oreo

Oreo’s golden hour photo shoot at Sandbanks Beach was so wonderful and having photographed Oreo a few times before it was even more special seeing his playful beach side this time around!

He is not quite as mobile as he once was, but that did not stop him from enjoying his time at the beach. The moment he felt the sand under his paws and the sea around him, he seemed to come alive. His owner lovingly calls him her “cartoon face dog,” and once you see his expressions, it is easy to understand why. He has such a sweet, characterful face, and every look he gives seems to say something. There were moments during the shoot where he ran around almost like a puppy again, and seeing that side of him was so lovely to witness.

Sandbanks was the perfect setting for his session. The soft golden evening light suited him beautifully and gave the whole shoot a gentle feel. We captured him enjoying the water, resting on the sand, and sharing quiet moments with his owner. Those images felt especially meaningful because they showed their relationship so naturally.

What made this shoot so important was simply seeing Oreo be himself. There was no pressure and no rush, just the space for him to enjoy the beach in his own way. That is what these sessions are really about. They are about holding onto the expressions you know so well, the little moments that feel familiar, and the version of them you never want to forget.

Oreo’s session was a beautiful reminder that even when dogs slow down, their spirit is still there. To be able to capture that for his family, and preserve this chapter exactly as it is, felt like a real privilege.
