Olive

Olive’s photo shoot was such a lovely one from start to finish. She’s a beautiful rescue Cretan Hound cross with the sweetest face, so much expression, and such a fun, playful spirit. From the moment we set off, she brought so much personality to the session.

We walked from Hengistbury Head to Mudeford and back again, making the most of the beach, the open space and all the little moments in between. Olive absolutely loved chasing the flirt pole and it was so much fun to watch her come to life, leaping through the sand and locking onto it with so much enthusiasm. She had that perfect mix of elegance and chaos that makes dog photo shoots so joyful to capture.

What I loved just as much were the quieter moments she shared with her owner along the way. In between all the running, playing and beach fun, there were those special little pauses that say so much — the glances, the closeness, and the connection they have together. Those are always some of my favourite moments to photograph, because they tell the story of who a dog really is and the bond they share with their person.

And then, right at the end of the shoot, Olive decided to finish things off in the most dog-like way possible by rolling in something absolutely disgusting… fox poo. Safe to say it really made both me and her owner laugh and was the perfect reminder that no matter how graceful and beautiful a dog may be, they are never too glamorous for total gross chaos.

Olive was such a joy to photograph and this shoot felt like such a lovely mix of adventure, affection and laughter — exactly the kind of session I love most.
