Willow – the mini yorkie

There’s something so special about celebrating a dog’s first birthday — and little Willow the Mini Yorkshire Terrier made this one especially sweet.

At just one year old, Willow is tiny — so much so that her birthday cupcake and soft toys looked nearly as big as she was! We met at Poole Park on a sunny spring day, where the grass was dotted with daisies and the light was soft and golden — perfect for capturing her delicate features and gentle nature.

Willow arrived with her party setup: a personalised biscuit cupcake, plush cake toys, and a pink bow around her collar. We started with some photos in the grass, where she sat quietly next to her birthday display, taking everything in with her soft, curious eyes. She was shy at first, but so beautifully calm — watching the world go by while I captured the moment from her level.

Afterwards, we strolled gently around the park, stopping at peaceful spots by the lake and under the trees. Willow may not be the boldest pup, but she has a gentle charm that shines in photos — soft ears catching the breeze, nose twitching at every new scent, and a few heart-melting moments as she looked right down the lens.

She ended the session with a well-earned biscuit and birthday cupcake. It was a peaceful, joy-filled session — a lovely way to mark her very first year.
