Rusty’s Autumn Adventure at Canford Heath 🍂

At the end of September I met up again with Rusty, the gorgeous Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, for his latest photo shoot at Canford Heath. I photographed Rusty earlier in the year at Pamphill and again in the summer at the beach, but his owners wanted to capture him throughout the seasons — and autumn was the perfect next chapter.

The soft light, golden ferns and pine needles made a beautiful backdrop for his rich chestnut coat. Rusty was full of character from the very first click — playful, curious and wonderfully expressive. He showed off his tricks, bounded down the paths, balanced on tree stumps and posed proudly when he wasn’t mid-zoomie! Every shot captured a different side of his sweet personality.

Canford Heath is becoming a new favourite local spot for dog photography because it offers such variety: open heathland, winding trails and those gorgeous earthy tones that change with the seasons. Rusty looked completely at home exploring every inch of it.

By the end of our walk we had a collection of joyful portraits and action shots that summed him up perfectly — a happy little adventurer with a big heart.
