Laura Zen Shiatsu

I recently had the pleasure of spending time with Laura from Laura Zen Shiatsu, photographing her as she worked with clients and welcomed me into her practice. From the moment I stepped into her space, I could feel the sense of calm she has so carefully created, with warm colours, thoughtful details and an atmosphere that instantly makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper.

Laura is a fully qualified Shiatsu practitioner, offering this traditional Japanese therapy to help people relax, release tension and restore their natural balance. Watching her work was fascinating, the way she tunes in to her client,applying gentle pressure and stretches with such care and presence. It was clear to see how much comfort and ease her client felt in her hands.

Throughout the session we captured portraits of Laura herself, treatment moments that showed the flow of her practice, and the smaller touches in her studio that reflect her holistic approach. These images were not just about documenting her work, but about telling the story of the calm, nurturing environment she has created for those who come to her for support.
