Domino the Dalmation

Photographing dogs like Domino is the best. They’re just pure joy, and that energy is completely contagious.

As a kid, I was obsessed with Disney’s 101 Dalmatians. I mean, what’s not to love? A whole army of adorable, mischievous spotted pups running around—absolute dream. So when Ella asked me to photograph her Dalmatian, Domino, at Sandbanks Beach, I was so excited.

Domino did not disappoint. This guy was full of energy, sprinting across the sand, leaping after his ball, and giving me plenty of action shots. Every time he pounced, I had flashbacks to Pongo and Perdita’s pups causing chaos—except this time, I was behind the camera capturing all the fun.

Sandbanks was the perfect setting for our shoot. The soft, golden sand and sea breeze made for some stunning backdrops, and the overcast sky gave us the dreamiest lighting. Whether he was mid-air, ears flopping, or standing proudly watching the waves, Domino had a way of making every shot look incredible.
