I recently photographed the very handsome Blue during an evening dog photo shoot at Sandbanks Beach in Poole.
Sandbanks is one of my favourite locations for dog photography, especially later in the day when the light becomes softer and warmer. For Blue’s session, we made the most of the beach, dunes and sea views to create a gallery with plenty of variety, from relaxed portraits in the grasses to action shots along the sand.
Blue had the perfect mix of confidence, character and serious little Frenchie expressions. He gave us everything from beach zoomies to thoughtful poses in the dunes, with the evening light adding a lovely golden glow to his coat.
Beach shoots are ideal for dogs who love to explore, run, sniff and take in their surroundings. They also create a really natural feel, which helps the final images look relaxed and full of personality.
Blue’s shoot was a lovely example of why Sandbanks is such a special location for dog photography in Dorset. The soft sand, open space and coastal backdrop always make for beautiful, timeless images.
