Berry the Bernese Mountain Dog was an absolute joy to photograph on the beach. She is actually the first Bernese I have photographed, and safe to say I am completely in love with the breed. I loved her so much that I can already say I would absolutely love to own one myself one day.
Berry is only 1 year old and had the calmest, loveliest nature. She was a little unsure of the camera at first, which is something that some dogs do need a little time with, and that is always completely okay. We spent the first 5 minutes helping her feel comfortable by pairing the camera with some of her favourite treats and even letting her owner hold the camera too whilst we walked for a few minutes. After that, she was not bothered by it in the slightest and we were able to capture such a beautiful mix of portraits and playful moments.
Then we had a lovely surprise when another Bernese Mountain Dog, Willow, appeared on the beach during the session. Berry already knew her, and before I knew it the two of them were having the best time together while I stood there surrounded by happy Bernese chaos capturing all the fun. It made the shoot even more special and gave us some gorgeous action shots too.
Berry was such a dream from start to finish and I honestly loved every second of this session.
