Alfie the 15 week old Leonberger puppy was an absolute dream to photograph in his beautiful Dorset garden. At such a young age, he was already full of personality, with the biggest paws, the fluffiest coat and the sweetest face. One minute he was posing so beautifully amongst the plants, and the next he was charging around the garden proudly carrying flower pots like they were his greatest treasure.
I have photographed quite a few Leonbergers now, and they are fast becoming one of my favourite breeds. They are such a wonderful mix of gentle, playful and full of character, and Alfie was no exception. Even as a puppy, he already had that lovely Leonberger charm that makes them such special dogs to photograph.
Puppy photo shoots like this are always so special because they capture such a fleeting stage. They grow and change so quickly, and Alfie is going to be a very big boy before long. It was so lovely to document him just as he is now, playful, curious, cheeky and completely adorable.
Home and garden puppy shoots can be such a perfect option too, especially for young dogs, as they can relax and explore in surroundings they already know and love. Alfie made the most of every corner, and his garden was the perfect backdrop for such a gorgeous boy.
